Arriving in Belize

The Belize International Airport (BZE) is easy to navigate.  After immigration, you collect your bags and move through the customs area.  The whole process can take up to an hour.  Porters are standing in clear view, but it is short distance to the domestic flight counters or vehicle pick area. Please be aware porters are not employed by the Airport Authority, they can be pushy and they will charge up to $5BZ for each bag - you are not obligated to use their services.

Fly to Dangriga

One can take a 20 minute, small plane, scenic flight, south, along the coast to Dangriga. Domestic flights are approximately US$100 one way from the International or US$70 from the Belize City Municipal Airstrip.

Travel by land

One can travel using public transport, private vehicle charter, or you can rent a vehicle and arrive on your own. Reliable vehicles can be rented online ahead of time, or at the International airport on arrival. The drive to the resort from Belize City takes approximately 2.5 hours. As park gates close at dusk and for safety considerations we advise guests to plan overland travel in daylight hours.

BOCAWINA- Ride

“My fiance and I stayed 4 nights as we wanted to explore the jungles of Belize...we were not disappointed! NATURE NATURE NATURE everywhere! You can hear birds at all times of the day and omg drinking coffee that is brought to you at 6 am each morning while listening to the birds, as well as just looking at the jungles out of your window is just magical! The staff was so friendly (thanks Ken, Reina, Ragnar, Victor, Israel, Tony!) from the moment we stepped foot in Bocawina. The lodge has so many activities to do; we recommend doing the whole loop hike if you get the chance.”
